Hahahahahaha!

"No-one mentioned conspiracy" you say and then THAT is your next post?! Hahahahaha! You couldn't make it up.

As per usual Ron, son, you are wrong. Completely wrong.

But still very funny. Cos that just cracked me up.

Re: NASA just announced the discovery of seven Earth-size worlds just 39 light-years away.
OK, it looks like I'll have to spoon feed it to you.

A bunch of scientists come up with a really 'exciting' theory about a newly 'discovered' solar system.
They can't actually prove it (or even see it), but more importantly nobody can DISPROVE it.

So, not only do they get to feel clever and important, but that FUNDING keeps rolling in.

Cushty!

Ron, I'm not going to explain it in detail to you on here, am I?

Google it for christ sake, you are an expert at that. As I say, it's actually very interesting how they do it. It's all to do with different substances affecting light in different ways, enabling clever people to work out what types of planets they are.

First Brexit. Then Trump. Now the Lizard people had been discovered living in the neighbourhood.!

Thanks Blair.!

Conspiracy? Who said anything about conspiracy?

Apart from you and Baggins, that is.

duh, if i don't understand but loads of so called scientists with educations far beyond my reach do, it must be made up and all a conspiracy. twat.

"Astronomers cannot directly observe exoplanets but must deduce their existence from the movement and light from their parent stars."

Taken from an article in that well known conspiracy journal The Sydney Morning Herald.

But, yes, I would like to spend some time learning how they make these assumptions, so please go ahead and share your knowledge with me.

Baggins 11:43 Wed Feb 22
Re: NASA just announced the discovery of seven Earth-size worlds just 39 light-years away.
Ron - No, actually, they haven't.

With some clever techniques they can even tell what types of planet they are. It's quite interesting if you want to spend the time actually finding out how they do it.

Alternatively you can ignore that and read nonsense conspiracy websites instead.

I'd prefer just to assume you.

"Astronomers cannot directly observe exoplanets but must deduce their existence from the movement and light from their parent stars. However, they believe direct observation of planetary atmospheres will be possible within a decade."

So, rather than DISCOVER these planets, they've ASSUMED them.
